I apologize for beating a dead horse but I wanted to put to rest once and for all the questions/doubts that a lot of prospective incoming freshman have regarding employment opportunities in the financial sector post-graduation. After doing some research on here and some other places, I have come across some links to posts and studies that show the representation of various undergraduate institutions in some of the nation’s top banking/PE/consulting firms and how Duke fares comparatively. The information gathered definitely reinforces what a lot of the users on this forum have been saying about Duke’s incredible placement.

Although the sources presented are a little ambiguous and somewhat dubious, there is no central database of data for this sort of thing so it’s largely a guessing game. However, there is a fairly strong positive correlation between the information presented here and it seems somewhat safe to assume that Duke is a top 5 target school among firms in Banking/Consulting/PE along with Harvard, Penn, Princeton and Dartmouth.
