Seligman is DelBarton grad. His h.s. team played in a big game against Finnerty’s h.s. team. Finnerty, who is helping coach, was a house guest at Reade’s home. Reade’s brother scored the winning goal for DelBarton.

What mistakes did I make? I believed Nifong when he said that the team was stone walling. (I never thougt that tens of LAX players would cover up a rape, but I thought (at the time) that some other felony had been committed - e.g., drugging a drink).

In the future, should I “not trust authority?”

Indeed, beprepn, I believe the underlying theme is that “authority” - whether it is in the form of a district attorney, a state investigator, the media, the police chief, or the city manager - may not be trustworthy if the goal (primarily their own well-being) is big enough and their personal ethics are shallow enough.

Another theme is to dig deeper whenever anything like this comes along. After all, at the time Nifong said the team was putting up a wall of silence, there were already interviews and DNA from the captains. After that, all we can do now is say thank God the team did not give any statements to Mr. Nifong’s cast of storytellers; the Seligmann alibi evidence alone - given the way Nifong orchestrated a new plot twist to accommodate it (despite his accusing witness not telling the same story as his team) - is proof positive of the value of having defense counsel, of never saying anything without representation, and of demanding everything in writing.

Nifong’s performance is also proof of just how much a “rogue prosecutor” can do when unfettered by judicial review - the early bench-warmers in this case disgraced their honored positions with how they allowed Nifong to steamroll due process. Yet another case of “authority” getting it wrong.

This is what needs to happen, and I’m glad to see that the whitewashed report was not taken seriously!

S1 got tickets for the Lax Final Four this weekend and we’re hoping it will be great!!! It’s close enough for us to drive up each day–can’t wait!! :):):)

What a game!!! Just got home from one of the hottest (literally and figuratively speaking) sports events I’ve been to in a long time!!! If I was wilting I can’t even imagine how the guys on the field were doing. It was an amazing game, an even more amazing finish–GO DUKE LAX!!!:D:D

berurah~OMG!!! Got back about an hour ago & posted that it was the most exciting thing I’ve seen in a long time–and one of the HOTTEST!!!

The goal that Cornell scored to tie it up was sick–and I just about went nuts, but Duke won the face off (probably the only thing that has been a weak part of their game, and they lost a lot of face-offs today!) and they just ran down, and when Greer scored the Dukies and their fans were in a total frenzy–it was so incredible!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Woohoo!!! GO DUKE—BEAT HOPKINS!!!:D:D:D:D:D

My son and husband were on the thirty yard line, and enjoyed seeing Duke beat an excellent Cornell team two days back…so many of the midfielders pulled out great shots…even though Danowski and Greer were shut down by Hopkins today.

Very proud of the lacrosse team. Danowski was a remarkable leader and truly outstanding positive influence as a senior and his father is someone I greatly respect.

I was on the 30 yard line in front row seats (how cool is THAT!) on Saturday. From my perspective … Duke escaped what was gonna be the greatest comeback in the history of NCAA final fours and managed to pull it out in the last 17 seconds! We got home in time to watch the finals on TV … and I was sorry that Duke couldn’t pull it out for the Championship.

By the way … I have to tell you what my son said was the coolest part about playing in the tournament. It wasn’t the crowd, the stadium, or the jumbotron. It wasn’t even the Ravens locker room – although I gather that was pretty cool. He told me the very coolest part was coming down into the hotel lobby to go to the game on Saturday, where they were escorted through the lobby by uniformed policemen, who then escorted the bus on their motorcycles, sirens blaring, through the Inner Harbor traffic to the stadium and the ramp down to the locker room players entrance!

WAtching on TV it looked like Danowski was yelling at his players after the game in the huddle. From the short interview he gave the TV right after the game on the field – I think he must have been yelling at them to hold their heads up and be proud of what they accomplished, not discouraged at defeat. And he is right! They are ALL champions!

cnpp55…thanks for the details from the eyes of a team member and Mom. They are all champions indeed. I am particularly proud of the way they held back Cornell in that heat wave…Cornell had just as good a chance at winning that game. Everyone was treated to two world class games this weekend.
