<p>are you close with the professor? If you’re just doing it to look important, it’s a terrible idea. If the prof actually knows you and would write a nice letter, it wouldn’t hurt.</p>

<p>Personally, I have no clue who is married to my mom’s cousin, but if that really is someone who knows you then go for it.</p>
