<p>Does Duke have requirement for the letters of rec? (ie 1 from humaniities and one from the arts)??</p>

<p>I do not think that they have an official requirement, but I think that they recommend one from sciences/math and one from humanities, such as english or history or languages. Again, I am not 100% sure, so someone should confirm this.</p>

Recommendations give us another avenue to learn who you are. That’s why Duke requires two teacher recommendations that come from teachers of academic courses during your 11th and 12th grade years. Also, we ask that you submit a recommendation from your guidance counselor.

<p>Yes, they say they can, so I’d believe them. If you’re applying to Pratt, you might want to get at least one math or science rec, but it’s probably more important to get a positive rec from a teacher who can project something positive about you (so they can “learn who you are”) than to strive for a recommendation distribution that they’re not even asking for.</p>
