Duke Letters of Rec

Does Duke have requirement for the letters of rec? (ie 1 from humaniities and one from the arts)??

I do not think that they have an official requirement, but I think that they recommend one from sciences/math and one from humanities, such as english or history or languages. Again, I am not 100% sure, so someone should confirm this.

Better yet, maybe someone should check the website rather than engage in wild speculation.
[Duke University Admissions: Our Policy on Recommendations](http://www.admissions.duke.edu/jump/applying/apply_recpolicy.html)

So, just to confirm, the 2 recs can come from any academic course?

Yes, they say they can, so I’d believe them. If you’re applying to Pratt, you might want to get at least one math or science rec, but it’s probably more important to get a positive rec from a teacher who can project something positive about you (so they can “learn who you are”) than to strive for a recommendation distribution that they’re not even asking for.

Good luck.
