duke reject... please chance me for USC

<p>after getting rejected from duke ED, USC became my new first choice
I applied for public relations at annenberg, but i’m not sure if i want to keep that major</p>

<p>Don’t say that community service is required! Flatter yourself! Were the classes outside/after school or something? And be sure to add details about each one (I’m sure you did when you actually applied, but it’s really important to do that).</p>

<p>I’d definitely play up all the awards your yearbook won, because Annenberg likes to see accomplishments in the journalism field, especially if you’re applying to be in the Journalism School (where PR is).</p>

Those stats are now out of date. The new admissions information for the incoming class of 2008 are on the undergraduate admissions website. Some highlights:</p>

<p>Applications:35, 901 ( I was told from an unofficial source SC is expecting over 36,000 applicants for the incoming 2009 class.)</p>

<p>The Chronicle of Higher Education noted SC had 18 Fulbright Scholars in 2008. In addition, were many other prestigious scholars including 2 Goldwater, 1 Carnegie, the only John Heinz Scholar, Luce Scholar and more. In 2007-2008 SC had a Rhodes Scholar and a Marshall Scholar.</p>

<p>first of all, i’m a guy
and second, usc’s 50% score range for ACT is 28-32, and i got a 30
so i’d be right at the average.</p>

<p>your cumulative SAT (what I was going by since I know nothing about the ACT) is 1970 and the average for the UPDATED (2008, which you really should look at because USC’s average SAT score went up) sheet is about 2100</p>
