Duke TIP program

In addition to my college bound oldest child (headed to Case Western) I have two younger kids (13, 15). My youngest took the SAT through the Duke TIP program and scored pretty high on it. He qualifies to take some courses during the summer and he likes the idea of going to App State to take courses for 3 weeks.

The classes are expensive but we can afford them. Have any other parents had kids go to these classes? Were they good? Did the child enjoy them? Any hints or tips? Any other similar programs that you have experienced?

It’s been awhile, but S attended TIP at Davidson for 2 years and Duke for 1 year (97-99). He later worked as a program assistant at Davidson in summer of '03. I thought it was a wonderful experience for him. He loved the experience of learning with other students who had the ability to accelerate academically. Congrats to your youngest on the Duke recognition.
