How did it go? What questions were you asked?

I thought it went pretty well. Like someone said earlier itā€™s more of a conversation than an interview. They asked me:

Why Duke?
Why did I pick my major?
Questions about my school/town
What do I do in school?
What I do in various clubs?

Any information on how many Ed applications Duke got this year ?

Someone told me it was up 28% over last year!!!

Is this true? My daughter submitted ED 10/25 but hasnā€™t heard from anyone about an interview yet.

Did she indicate she wanted to be interviewed on the application?

I would also have her check her spam folder just in case.

I wouldnā€™t worry about it as Duke makes it clear you are not at a disadvantage if you donā€™t have an interview.

Yes she did state that she would like an interview. We have been checking her email and spam folder often. Oh well I wonā€™t worry about it too much! She will land where she belongs :heart:

Hey yā€™all! Do you we know when decisions will come out (based on last years and whatnot)?

Decisions and some stats will probably be released Dec 15. Iā€™m guessing the acceptance rate will be about 13% this year for ED, maybe 4% for RD.

My sonā€™s checklist disappeared this morning. Iā€™m not sure how long it takes for decisions to be released after that, but looks like itā€™s soon.

Yes ours too. Dont they normally send an email about when to expect decisions though?

Here are the dates from the last couple of years. I copied the dates from last yearā€™s Duke ED thread (thanks @2Devils). Possibly expect an email this week and even the decisions by next week??

2022 - Class of 2027 - email on Monday, 12/12 that decisions would be released Saturday, 12/17 @ 2:00 PM
2021 - Class of 2026 - released Thursday, 12/16 @ 7:00 PM
2020 - Class of 2025 - email on Tuesday, 12/5 that decisions would be released Friday, 12/18
2019 - Class of 2024 - email on Monday, 12/9 that decisions would be released Thursday, 12/12
2018 - Class of 2023 - email on Monday, 12/10 that decision would be released Thursday, 12/13
2017 - Class of 2022 - released Thursday, 12/14
2016 - Class of 2021 - released Wednesday, 12/14
2015 - Class of 2020 - released Thursday, 12/10
2014 - Class of 2019 - released Thursday, 12/11

I heard that someone heard from an admissions officer that it could be 12/21 or 12/23. There were 6,280+ apps, up almost 30% so it is understandable that it could be this late as opposed to previous years.

Also, @24aviation do you have any info as to the amount of time between the checklist supression and the decision release?

Looking at last yearā€™s thread, their ED checklist was removed on Wed, 12/14, 3 days before their release date. Not sure if that trend will continue this year, it would be pretty early for it to be released this week.

6,280+ applications are insaneā€¦ and if Duke continues the ~800 ED accepted thatā€™s about a 13% acceptance rate.
