Oh wow … I don’t see the upload button now. It used to be in the portal on the first or second tab. (I’m not completely sure which.) I can still see on the Admissions Checklist and where they added it as a “Student Miscellaneous Upload” in my daughter’s portal. I believe the upload a file button was on that page previously. It wasn’t hidden – very obvious at the time. Maybe they’ve pulled that feature since the regular admission date passed? I would send the LOCI directly to the email listed on the admissions page … Here’s the way they word that info on their site (in the Contact Us area):
“If you would like to update your application for admission, please do so through your applicant portal or by emailing undergrad-admissions@duke.edu. Please do not send updates to regional officers.”
Looking at the FAQ sheet attached to the deferral letter, there isn’t a deadline for updates – just directions to upload to the portal. LOCI isn’t specifically mentioned, but I consider that a way to communicate updates. I would think as soon as possible would be best for LOCI/updates. Their regular application window has ended so I’m thinking they are reviewing deferrals and regular applicants now. Not sure of the order but I would want updates attached to the application materials before they revisit. I hope that makes sense.
Not directly – but the letter was uploaded in the portal and shows up as a “Miscellaneous Student Upload” as the last item on the admissions checklist. She also emailed the regional advisor a question and mentioned in that email that a LOCI was submitted. She did get a reply to that email, including a thank you for sending in the update.
