<p>Hey guys, so I’m really loving Duke, and I really want to get in. But… what can you do at Duke? Moreover, what can you do in Raleigh? I mean, it’s a great research place and all… but are there any attractions or theme parks or something interesting to do to spend the free weekends over the next four years? And how’s the weather in NC? I know the summer’s are really hot and humid, but are the rest of the days like that?</p>
<p>The humidity does not become oppressive until May, and begins to subside in Sept. So it is not so much a factor in the academic year. There is lots to do in the RTP, but not so much the classic big theme park. Go to the Outer Banks or mtns for a long weekend, go to Chapel Hill and watch people move their lips as they read the menu. That sort of thing.</p>
