Duke vs GT Biology difficulty

Is Georgia Tech Biology Much harder than Duke biology? And what about engineering?

Admissions or classwork?

The grading at GT is tougher than Duke, and that shows in the GPA. They are similar in quality of education though.

It’s tougher even in Biology? I thought that was just for engineering.

@AlwaysMoving is it significantly tougher?

How could anyone possibly give you an accurate answer to your question? There are no comprehensive studies doing an apple to apples comparison among colleges, for the simple reason it’s just not possible to do so.
You should focus on what school fits best for what you want to do; nobody here has taken classes at GT and Duke for the purpose of comparing which is “tougher” grade wise.

As cranky says above it’s impossible to give you a definitive answer. GT is known for it’s tough grading and Duke is not.

Thanks Josephine

Georgia Tech makes its grade distributions publicly available. Like most top universities, Georgia Tech gives out far more A’s than any other grade. It seems that it is quite possible to graduate with a decent GPA.

The remaining 16% in the “all departments” lists consist primarily of students who received a Satisfactory (6.7%, 6.3%), who audited the class and did not receive a grade (3.1%, 3.1%), and those who withdrew from the class (6.0%, 6.1%).

If the OP wants to go to Med School the GPA needs to be better than 3.7. Sure that’s doable at GT, but the student needs to go in with their eyes wide open.
