CMU is probably the best for what you want to do if all you care about is academics. However, if you think you would happier at Duke, don’t let the rank of the engineering program scare you away. Companies like Microsoft, Apple, IBM and biomedical firms like Medtronic all recruit pretty heavily here. I haven’t really met any engineer that has had too much trouble finding a job. I’ve also heard that one reason for the low ranking is that Pratt focuses more on teaching than research, especially in the ECE department. It’s not as true for the BME department. The rankings tend to focus more on research and grad school, so Duke is not as bad as it appears for undergraduate engineering.

CMU’s SCS is very very very very good.
It’s among MIT, Stanford, Berkeley, and Caltech.

If only we could switch scholarships! I would trade you my half tuition at CMU any day. I’m premed. Ahaha! I’m BS Bio and Psych… and I guess CMU’s psych isn’t too shabby either…
