Duke Waitlist 2024

Can I still apply for financial aid now that I am off the waitlist and accepted my offer?

@patssox2019 No, that would be bait and switch, and colleges do not allow it. If you want to apply for financial aid, you must do it at the time of the application, not after you get an offer.

I got the email on May 1st and replied within an hour but haven’t gotten anything back yet. Has this happened to anyone else?

Has anyone received their financial aid off the waitlist yet? I got accepted to Duke last Friday and still haven’t received my letter yet…

Happened to me

Do you think it’s unlikely that there will be more movement this week? Has Duke released any info about yield rates for this year?

Made this account just to add this.

Emailed my regional admissions officer and she replied today saying that “ she doesn’t know if the Dean will be taking more students off the waitlist” but added that my application “ remains under active consideration”.

Sounds kind of contradictory but I’m not sure whether it’s an implicit closing or whether these officers don’t have too much info to work with.

@Daverybest who sent the email letting you know that you were accepted?

So I just called and was told that they’ve mostly filled the class of 2024. Some people will still be contacted, but there won’t be any big waves of people getting acceptances.

@st20203 The same person who contacted me asking for my interest in Duke responded with an email saying I was admitted. The next day I received a status update in my portal with the official acceptance lettter.

Also has anyone received their financial aid letter off the waitlist yet? I still haven’t and its the only thing I’m waiting on before I confirm my spot.

Standardized test score now appears below the wait-list tab on the portal - has that always been the case? Or is it a recent change?

@Debbed It’s a recent change–I don’t remember it being there when I checked earlier today. I doubt it means anything though.

For everyone does- does your account no longer show you accepting the waitlist offer?

@jkjkjk7 Mine still has the waitlist response form and has information about the waitlist. What disappeared on your account?

Standardized Test Scores are there so admitted/enrolled students can check to see if their score report sends were official processed. I asked my AO how to verify when mine get input and she referred me to the table.

@ljbigboi it no longer shows that I accepted the waitlist offer. It still has the response form- but before it had showed that I accepted the offer. The Waitlist FAQs are still up.

Are test scores only availiable for enrolled or admittedd students? I was waitlisted, and a check mark and my test scores are still up.

I submitted my waitlist response back in March, followed by a confirmation email from Duke that it had been received. When I went to check my portal back on May 1, I noticed that there was no record of it having been submitted. I submitted it a second time with a postmark of May 1, and then sent the admissions office an email about the issue, reminding them that they had, in fact, confirmed it with an email. Still haven’t heard back from them about it. Has anyone else had this issue?

Also, the waitlist offer is still present on my portal, so I think the postmark date may have something to do with whether or not it’s still viewable.

@Brasssection259
Yes, I have this exact same issue. I didn’t reach out to my AO because I have sent LOCIs/received confirmation emails so I believe it’s fine (but am not sure). I’m curious as to if this means they are done with their WL? The ‘Respond to Offer’ is still present on my portal so I’m still not sure what that means either.

My account still has my waitlist response properly marked with the date that I submitted it. I doubt it means anything!
