Is Duke waitlist binding?

From what I’ve heard, Duke waitlists a lot more people than they can actually admit during that summer. If you are extremely lucky, you may be able to get off the waitlist.
There are actually 3 different waitlists at Duke. There is no way you will know which one you’re on. Only the admissions people can see. People on WL1 or 2 really only have a chance of getting in. WL3 is more of courtesy.

@HSsenior1997 there is a book written by former Duke Admissions Officer Rachel Toor which details all of this.
