Duke Work Study

I have been looking for a work study job, particularly one involving research. When are most of those positions posted on the DukeList? How competitive are the research work study positions?

periodically, whenever the researcher gets around to it. But if you have lab experience and are looking for a job that involves more than cleaning glassware or mouse cages, I’d recommend contacting a professor directly.

I don’t have any lab experience. What would you recommend I do?

Wait until classes start and approach your professors then. They are usually very open and helpful to willing students- Work study jobs are available just go in with an open mind -Good Luck -

dukelist may be a good place to start then, or if you have specific research interests, you could still try contacting professors. nearly every lab needs, or at least could use, an extra pair of hands to do busy work. as long as they can fund you, you can probably find yourself a job.
