Dumb invigilators!!

There’s this one really dumb invigilator I got twice in a row now, and this time he stopped everyone during the middle of the essay section so we can take our IDs out and he can check them, which he should have told us to do beforehand!! He did give everyone a couple of more minutes, but I couldn’t find my goddam ID cause I had just stuffed it in my backpack along with a whole load of misc stuff, so after a couple of minutes I thought I really can’t waste more time and I’ll just show it to him after the section…then he comes around to me and tells me he needs it NOW so I had to go after it again, which turned out to be in my stupid pocket. And that wasted about two more minutes of my precious time and totally distracted me from what I was writing…and I had time to write only 1 sentence for my conclusion. And I was annoyed for the rest of the exam and even briefly considered cheating in another sentence somehow to make up for it. I know I should have kept my ID somewhere I could find it, but you don’t keep track of stuff when you’re stressed out…and how can you stop everyone in the middle of the section, especially the essay? Oh and a few sections later he thought my watch was a cellphone…maybe cause I had it off my wrist… Ehh, I’m just venting my frustration…it’s not really his fault but it’s just human nature to blame it on everyone else but themselves. Anyone else have experiences with less-than-impressive invigilators?

Actually, I think it WAS his fault.

You should report this to the College Board. Invigilators can’t just distract you in the middle of the exam. It was COMPLETELY his fault.

Yeah, once a section starts, the guy can’t intervene unless he finds someone cheating.

anhtimmy – I was in suchhhh a similar situation.

The proctor came around to collect something (this dumb slip of paper that she had written to label where our seats would be – we were all in alphabetical order) so mine had flown off my desk about 3 feet away from where I was sitting. She then asked me where it was, totally taking a minute off my precious time.

Then she continued to stomp around the room, intermittantly opening the door, then closing it, and it really really bugged me especially because I was right next to the door, and it was a rickety portable classroom.

I tried my best to ignore her when she did this, but I know because of her I was distracted/even more stressed. I really wanted to punch her.

How do we report a proctor?

I dont even know her name but she still needs to be reported especially b/c she kept shortchaging us 30 seconds to 1 min on the first four sections.
