Dumb PC democrats

[Caterers find eco-standards tough to chew - The Denver Post](<a href=“Caterers find eco-standards tough to chew – The Denver Post”>Caterers find eco-standards tough to chew – The Denver Post)

Every burger joint, barbecue pit, chicken shack, pizza parlor, taco shop, Chinese take-out spot, and greasy-spoon diner in Denver will be doing a brisk business this August. Surf ’n Turf places shouldn’t do too badly, either. The paparazzi are going to have a field day with this one!

Hmmm, I wonder how many ‘non-organic, incorrectly colored, non-Colorado produced food’ the planners ate in the months of planning they’ve spent in coming up with this ridiculous plan? I also wonder how much energy was spent in the months of planning to come up with the plan to not use paper plates. I guess they prefer washing dishes with valuable water Colorado must import to Denver after building dams in the mountains to contain the water that end up destroying the environment and providing fewer places for deer and bears to live, heating the water with greenhouse gas, global warming generating, natural gas or electric heat, and then using detergents produced by chemical companies that might eventually end up in the eco-sphere.

These guys need to go to the bank and get a reality check.

I don’t see how preferring not to create huge amounts of waste is “dumb.” I don’t see how preferring to provide a nutritionally sound range of foods is “dumb.” I don’t see how preferring to support local agriculture and sustainable farming methods is “dumb.”

Paper plates, btw, can be composted. Styrofoam, which is what the article mentions, cannot.

What’s dumb about that?

This “green” phase is fun to watch

Well, I’ve lost 15 pounds since I started following those rules…

Maybe the Democrats want to be lean and mean for the fall term.

are their business. So what’s to you? Someone is going to spend money and someone is going to make money. I see it as a business opportunity.

I wonder what the Elephants are going to eat? The GOP funds are running low, and the fat cats are abandoning the ship. Elephants are probably going to out do the Donkeys in the amount of “grass” they eat. Could be the last meals for this party. RIP.

You people are something else. You really are. If the Dems didn’t do this, you’d be railing on their hypocrisy for supporting environmental causes and not following the example themselves. Since they are following the example, now they’re “Dumb PC Democrats” - come on.

Go take your pointless negativity somewhere else - at least the Dems are making an effort.

No Red colored foods. This would mean that this color is reserved for the Republicans. I love Red Beets. I just planted a row of beets.

The GOP Convention could had in honor of W and M, a lot of refried beans (cheap and nutritious when eaten with fried corn tortias). Is Arizona cooking similar to Tex-Mex? Don’t light a match-bio fuel conversion from carbohydrate to methane.

This is actually an article about Denver, and really has nothing to do with the Democrats. Local zoning laws decide much of what is at issue.

"I guess they prefer washing dishes with valuable water Colorado must import to Denver after building dams in the mountains to contain the water "

Flooding in the Colorado plains and high country are major concerns - similar to the level of Katrina. Without dams, much of the Front Range would have been washed away years ago. The dams regulate the water flow as the snow pack melts.

This year Colorado has an extremely high snow pack and concerns are extreme for flooding in the high country (rivers overflowing), as well as the plains.

I doubt there will be a shortage of water to wash dishes.

If the Democrats really wanted to be eco-friendly, they would not eat meat or fish at their convention. Anything short of that is merely eco-lip service.

It all runs downhill. (first law of plumbing)

Oh, I forgot that one “they’re not doing enough to be eco-friendly” - thanks for the reminder of another pointless and insubstantial attack razorsharp. Again, though I don’t agree with every Democratic environmental policy, I respect them for trying to live what they (or some of them) preach. Maybe you should all do the same.

You are welcome 42.

What are taxes for.

I don’t understand how specifying ‘blue food’ is going to help the environment.

I was being facetious.

Do you seriously not think this display is a bit over the top and gratuitous?

Whoa, food fight! ;)

Better to be something else, than to be that.
