Dyson Day?

My D is looking to visit “Cornell Days” on Thurs. April 9th and Fri April 10th.
I believe the 10 is a Dyson Day.
Q-1. What does a Dyson Day usually consist of?
Q-2. We are not familiar with Cornell Days and want to know if the two days are enough?
Q-3. Will she be able to find a host and spend the night in of the dorms (Thurs. night April 9th)?

We looked at the Cornell days page and scheduled some activities for her on Thurs. April 9th
and we are leaving the 10th open for her to visit Dyson because she received an email
explaining that the 10th will be a “Dyson Day”.
Does this sound like a good plan?
Any Cornellian that is familiar with Cornell/Dyson Days for incoming freshman please any info. is greatly appreciated!!!

We are in a similar situation, but we are visiting with our daughter on April 16-17. Looking at the 2014 Dyson Days schedule, a couple of events are common to both Dyson Days and Cornell Days (http://dyson.cornell.edu/undergrad/cornell-days.php). It looks like 2 days are more than enough. We have sent an email to the Red Carpet Society for Overnight Hosting. Again, 2014 information is given here: http://admit.cornell.edu/cornell-days/plan-your-day/overnight-hosting.

@snowberry42…Thank you for the information it was very helpful.
Too bad they are visiting different weekends, it would have been nice for her to meet another female entering AEM.
I do hope she does get to mingle with other AEM entering freshman. It seems they will be spending the next four years together, and being such a small class they will undoubtedly get to know each other well.

@lkgrg17 I wouldn’t worry to much, I transferred into AEM from another school as a sophomore but from what I’ve heard, all the kids that were there freshman year (“original AEM”) know each other at least reasonably well. Like you said, its a small class and almost all the students have the same schedule due to core requirements

@william95 Can you give your insight about taking AP credits for Intro Micro/Macroeconomics and start with Managerial Economics? Will that be hard? I have the same question about taking transfer credit (AP) for 2 Writing Seminars, Calculus I and II, and Intro Stat. Since AP credits are limited to 30 for first year students, will it be better to take those credits for physical/social sciences instead? I appreciate your help in advance.
