When can we get our berk e-mail addresses?

how do you set it up

You can only set it up after you have submitted your SIR. And then you have to wait till they load you CalNet ID to their system for a few days. Then you can set it up.

i sent in my SIR a week ago and I still can't set up an email account

should we be getting our SIR out right now? is it better to get your dorm stuff in first? or is it a lottery?

housing is a lottery.

i sent in my SIR yesterday, it takes like 30 seconds, so just do it

but yeah where do u go ot set it up?

okay so i did everything for the CalMail thing or whatever and i made a passphrase using my pin and stuf. and then i tried authenticating and it says
"There is no entry for ******** in the CalNet Directory.

You must use your true CalNet ID (numeric student, employee or affiliate ID, or self-selected CalNet ID); other Kerberos principals for which you may know the passphrase are not valid here. Questions may be addressed to firstname.lastname@example.org.

NOTE TO INCOMING STUDENTS: Initially your CalNet ID is restricted to applications related to enrollment at UC Berkeley. Any service that uses the CalNet Directory for authorization, i.e., goes to this page (https://net-auth.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/krbaws-uid) for authentication, will not be available to you until your CalNet ID has been added to the Directory."

So I guess i'm waiting for that...

what do berk e-mail addresses look like anyways? firstletter lastname @ berkeley.edu?

btw i looked at the "timetable for uploading" (of your CalNet ID into the full directory) and it says...

"SCHEDULE of CALNET STUDENT DATA FEEDS

* Student data for 'Incoming FALL Undergraduates' will be loaded into the CalNet Directory a few days after the 'Statement of Intent to Register' form has been submitted.
Incoming FALL Graduate students will be loaded into CalNet in mid-May.
Summer Session students will be loaded in the first week of May.
Spring 05 admitted students will be loaded in December."

just wait man............

Exactly what I said in my post, earlier.

dmc: i was just posting the info for other people so they know how to do it
lyrical: yes i know i was just affirming/clarifying it w/ actual quote from their site

ah ic ic =)

Has anyone actually been able to setup their calmail account? I for one submitted my SIR over a week ago, but I am still unable to setup my calmail account.

Damn that looks hella sexy.

sleep: hell yea it does...

Student data for 'Incoming FALL Undergraduates' will be loaded into the CalNet Directory a few days after the 'Statement of Intent to Register' form has been submitted.

damn are they all @calmail.berkeley.edu not @berkeley.edu?

The login is @calmail.berkeley.edu however the true e-mail address is @berkeley.edu
