In non academic classes such as PE, how badly is a ‘satisfactory’ viewed on an excellent/satisfactory/unsatisfactory scale? I have exactly 2 S’s–others are all E’s. However my counselor probably won’t write anything about this in his form. Does Yale even care about this?

I doubt it… especially if it’s a class like PE. it would be odd if they read too much into that; but i’m not an admissions officer, just my guess!

…

Are you serious?

hmm i’d guess not really, its just an S. it’s not like it’s a U or anything

What kind of a high school doesn’t have legit grades (A, B, C, D, F)?

I think we did like E/S/U in elementary school.

Well, my guess is that they might translate it into some sort of system where A=E C=S and F=U (lol). Either that or they just evaluate you in the context of your peers.

Colleges won’t translate it to that scale. As it’s a non-academic and not a required course for college entrance, the S is just fine.

At my school the E,S,U thing is about conduct which doesn’t show up on the transcript if I am not mistaken. So it should be a moot issue.
