I feel like a chat is in order for all of us EA’ers.

3.9 2300 Differed

^lol 2300 who spells “differed”

viggy, did you get in?

^haven’t heard a thing. International over here though, so I’m staying hopeful for tomorrow. Not stressing out though, just curious more than anything.

ah I hope you get in :)

Seems like most of the overtly-qualified students are getting deferred! Best of luck, Viggy!

how the hell do you get deferred with a 3.9 and a 2300? those are shoe-in stats

^lol, yea. I hope I don’t get deferred either. 4.0, 2300, val, but from what I see from OOS results, it seems like nothing is safe until you have the acceptance in your hand if you’re from outside of Michigan.

Anyways, hit the chat up, I’m on there right now.

Got Accepted! Im an international (from Burma). However, my SATs are nowhere near yours. Was only 2050, but with a GPA of 4.07/4.3 and 3 A* in GCE ALevels

123abc456, there is no such thing as “shoe-in” stats. I agree that a 4.0 student with 2300 SAT has very good odds of admission, but there are many with such stats that are rejected.

wow. weird results this year.

My guess is that many overtly qualified applicants were deferred because it was probably thought that they were applying as a “safety” and that they were not as passionate about going. Admissions is probably waiting to see if those applicants want to go to U of M enough to wait (and not commit to ivy league or something in the meantime).

Just my two cents.
