@sn189144 Congratulations to your son. When did your son submit his application? My daughter sent hers on Nov 6th. Still waiting.

He was early with most of his applications. I’d say end of September , beginning of October . He had an interview in Philadelphia with a Wooster Representative in mid October and I know the application had already been sent in at that point. We did not expect to hear from th so soon . Nice early Christmas present!

Best wishes to your daughter! Hope you receive good news soon!

Thanks Twokidstogo! He is looking forward to getting out there and the audition. He loved everything he read on line and found his interview to be helpful . Of fhebachools he has visited already , he has discovered that he has a strong preference for smaller LACs , so my guess is that he will like it very much. The distance may be an issue as the others he applied to are between 45 minutes and 5 hours away. Wooster is 9 hours from the Philadelphia area I believe , by car . I know it is not too far from two airports as well but I haven’t looked into that yet.

Despite the long distance , my son is very glad to have been accepted! A friend in my yoga class has a daughter who is graduating this May from The College of Wooster and I know she had a wonderful experience! Here is tomours doing the same!

@sn189144 - if your son likes chocolate milk, tell him to try some when he is there. My daughter found out it comes from a local dairy and still talks about it. I don’t drink dairy, so I missed out. Wooster is the closest of the colleges (at 8.5 hours away) that my daughter is really considering. That is a big win for me. She ended up choosing to not apply to any LACs in our state and has applied to our flagship university and to another public - but her heart is definitely pulling for the small LAC. We had to say no to one of them today (Eckerd College) as the financial aid package left over a $10k gap with what we can afford - and that was with a $22k merit scholarship but all they gave beyond that was the standard student loan package. It was a safety - so I told her not to worry about it.

This thread is making me nervous. S20 applied EA on 10/29. 1520 SATs (740/780), 4.0W, 800 Math2, 740 Physics, 710 Lit, highly selective/ nationally ranked STEM magnet school, very rigorous schedule, good research experience. Very active in music (but did not apply for a scholarship), does drama when music has a lull, community involvement, lots of demonstrated interest (campus visit, phone conversation with AO, CTCL fair, etc) , requested a merit pre-read in August and got a huge award. Etc, etc,

Wooster is a safety— but he loves it and might well attend. I wish he would hear back. Also waiting for CWRU EA, but they release all at once around 12/22.

This is making me nervous too! Daughter applied EA in October; she is an athletic recruit and had indicated a huge award from on merit Early Aid Estimator. We have been on the campus twice and in regular communication with the coach. Now, we’re not hearing anything.

Nervous now, too. Son applied EA late October. SAT 1460. GPA 4.1. Have heard nothing as far as I know.

I just looked over the EA 2022 thread and it looks like Wooster sends out EA decisions throughout late November and December - so don’t be nervous! Based on that thread, if you did not apply for College Scholars, you may (or may not) hear something between this afternoon and next week. The final EA decisions should come out before the admissions office closes for the holidays (which I am assuming will be by 12/20).

Hi - Do you know why the College Scholars application would make a difference? Thanks!

B/c they go thru a second round of readers. Also, if you’ve noticed EA sort of trickles out. CS app decisions all come out at once. It’s usually a Fri evening before Xmas.
