EA Roster

yeah…and I might be one of them.

PS: God, if you love me like i love you, please don’t make the above statement come true.

I agree with james ;)

Will add the messenging section soon. First, why don’t I compile a list of other things people want added so that I can make a final adjustment so we don’t futher clog the thread.

Only concern is, as the thread demonstrates, I seem to be getting lots of feedback to abandon the opened thread and have a new one created when actual decisions arrive. Maybe we can move discussions and comments regarding The Official EA Decision roster here? Any Suggestions?

Is it Frank? ;-)

You’re really going out on a limb with that guess :)

I think my name would be a little (TONS) less apparent from my username.

Yes, I’m Frank. .581% of men have the name Frank.

hmm mognoose this is a tough one…

how about a shot in the dark here…
Rumplestiltskin?
No wait…
ERIK.
:)

What disturbs me is that ~2550 FEMALES are also named Frank.

Edited to add: No offense if you’re in the female .3% of Franks.

As a girl named Frank, I take personal offense to your post, hamster ;)

A girl named Frank. Is that a hook? LOL.

you know I’m kidding…right?

But yeah, that would be some major hookness. “Yeah, okay, so my GPA is only a 3.0 and I got sub-1800 on the SAT, but MY NAME IS FRANK!”

ACCEPT! ACCEPT! lol

wow this is what i get for not visiting CC in a short while. now im behind on all the fun =( hehe. i think i’m just going to make myself forget that I ever applied to MIT so I won’t be constantly waiting for the mail and hoping. If I do get it in, I’ll be pleasantly surprised. Otherwise, no loss =D

 • i’m [jooooo-leeee] =)

I can’t believe you just said that. That was our AP physics joke. Apply to a school, doublethink yourself into thinking you didn’t. If you get rejected, just be like “***! I didn’t even APPLY” and if you get accepted be like “WOW! They must really want me!”

ahahah that’s a good way to think about it.

If you’re deferred, do you have a different likelihood of being admitted under regular? higher or lower? I wonder if there are statistics on how many EA deferrments were admitted later…

im not sure abt statistics, but i know you’ll be viewed the exact same as a regular applicant. most of the ppl deferred are given that decision because of space, and a LOT will be admitted regular. i emailed ben jones, asking him if any REALLY good matches were deferred, and his response, word for word was “Yes, there were a huge number of really good matches who were deferred. This
is because the EA pool tends to be a bit stronger overall and yet we
can only take 1/3 of the class during EA, so some folks who we
already know will absolutely get in RA get deferred.” so dont worry if you get deferred

check the MIT website… it says it

mhm, so I heard acceptance comes in cardboard tubes and the rest in white envelopes…

groans

I predict my white envelope is sitting in a white bin at my local post office down the street as I type, rubberbanded to the rest of our mail.

Mine too, maverach.
