<p>Hey everyone, I’m applying for MIT EA also. I just had my interview yesterday technically… it went really well. It was at the UCSD medical center and we just sat down on the couches. She just asked me the three most common questions: school, personal life, activities. Everything else I was just enthusiastic about and it was great “conversation,” even though it was supposed to be an interview. The time went by VERY quickly, an hour and a half is not that long. </p>

<p>So my short answer: I wrote about trumpet and how I’ve had to go through so many roadblocks to still play (no school music program, low-income paying for youth symphony tuition, and having BRACES). </p>

<p>Essay: Okay, I did prompt B </p>

<p>Optional essay: I only did the second one, and I wrote about how I motivate others by bringing a light-hearted spirit into the academic environment.</p>

<p>hey preuss…I play french horn and I feel your pain braces wise…I’ve never had em, but I’ve seen countless brass friends suffer through them =P A terrible fate. And once you get them off, you have to totally change how you play again to readjust…</p>

<p>My son listed it on his app last year under “Scholastic Distinctions” (#7 on Part II). It might not be as important as other such distinctions, depending how many you have to list and how small a font you can use to squeeze them all in there. ;)</p>

<p>On another note - EAers, apparently, deadline has been extended to the 4th to accommodate the awry web server.</p>
