EA Scholarships-impacted by CSS Profile ?

Hi everyone. We're very happy our son got accepted with a nice scholarship. Just curious if the financial figures off the CSS profiled played a part. Some of the scholarship amounts vary greatly with the same stats (SATs & GPAs). Thanks.

I believe it does. I read on a website that around 95 percent of those needing financial aid also received merit based scholarships. Only around 20 percent of those not needing financial aid received merit based scholarships.

Just my humble opinion: They would not have asked for the information so soon, if they weren't going to use it.

Case has some scholarships for specific majors. Maybe some people received more than one scholarships? Did you write any essays for applying scholarships?

I did not write any essays specific to CWRU. I also did not apply for FA to Case Western, but received a 25k/year scholarship. I may have been part of the group erickkwangg was talking about.

Unsure...my son received $30,000/year and won't be applying for need-based aid, nor did he complete the CSS.

I received a $17.5k scholarship - I think that it may be partially based on your income bracket, but also on merit.

Best way to find out is to ask!

I also received the 30k scholarship. I didn't apply for financial aid and wrote no supplement essays.

So I'm assuming it's merit-based.
