June 6 (in VA)

May 23rd here, at a South Florida private school. The local public school’s here are staggered throughout the first week in June.

standrews no this is the original date, its always late in June. We get tons of snow and if we have too many snow days they have built in extra days for us to use. For example Memorial weekend is four days instead of three and they would cut that if necessary.

The NY dates pose a real problem for kids who are trying to be camp counselors at out of state camps. My son’s camp schedules their training week the same week as the Regents Exams. One year my Mathson went straight from school to CTY without any break at all. I really wish they’d schedule them a little earlier.

here in ny, june 21st!!! other schools around us are 6/28 though, and some of the seniors at my school taking physics have to go back AFTER graduation to take the physics regents

haha, lucky i took it last year!

Thought I’d be the latest with June 28th, but I see my fellow NY’ers have beat me to it!

6/19 in So Cal. Ridiculous.

5/30 here.

Weird thing her in Mass. The law is that all students must attend school 180 days. But everyone around here graduates their Seniors about 2 weeks before the rest of the students get out. For example, our last day of school is scheduled for 6/13 (would have been 6/10 but we had a snow day), but we’re graduating 5/30. They always take the last scheduled day of school, and back up to the Friday 2 weeks before. I don’t know why the state DOE lets everyone do this, but they do. It actually works pretty well, getting the seniors away from the school before the underclassmen take finals.

Another May 10 HS graduation here. Its also our older s’s college graduation date. Stinks-- we’ll have to divide and conquer. Sigh… What’s hard to believe is that I remember talking about this double graduation on CC several yrs ago, and here it is!!! Time flies…

DS is Sun 6/29. in NY

Mine’s 6/7

Seniors’ last day is 5/23, if you have any class averages under an 80 (B-) you must take finals the week of 5/27

May 31st in Ohio.

In the last four years the State Track Meet has been the same day as our HS’s graduation. Some seniors have had to decide which was more important to them. Others have been fortunate to have a morning graduation and their competition scheduled for later in the day. I have known students that have walked across the stage and go directly to the State Track Meet. If DS advances to the State Meet again, there will not be a conflict. The Regional Qualifying Meet is on Friday evening before Saturday’s Graduation. The State TRack Meet is one week later.

6/13, my class will be the latest graduating class. From my knowledge, the grad. date has always been late May. =p

5/18, but we’re the earliest around here. First day of school is August 12th, though.

I’m in Nebraska, and we graduate May 17th, and our last day of school as seniors is May 6th. That’s about the norm here.

My sister’s last day is May 1 (mine was May 3 last year) and she graduates May 19 (mine was May 21). NOT BAD! I loved it.

As for college, I’m done May 14

Our seniors do internships during the month of May. It’s wonderful to have them out of the school during that last month, and they get to do something totally different. They have to come back to take APs, but taking finals is up to the teachers’ discretion, and many don’t require them. They have to check back in school once a week and they will graduate this year on June 11.

Franglish- Quelle bonne ide

Friday evening June 27.

For NYC public schools, the last day of school for Classroom Teachers, Bilingual Teachers in School and Community Relations, Attendance Teachers,
Nurses, Therapists, Laboratory Specialists and Technicians, and Paraprofessionals is June 26 which is also the rating day for the NYS regents exam (last regents exam is given on JUne 25). For GCs, APs, Principals and other administrative employees the school year does not end until monday, June 30.

There are already potential problems because the school year is over, teachers are not obligated to attend graduation (and some have expressed their displeasure at being “forced” to attend). Because of the City’s "no walk policy we will be certifying students for graduation right up until the last exam is marked and the final grade submitted to HSST. It is a really bad situation all around and really bad planning on the State’s part.

June 23rd (a monday) here in northern CT. That’s assuming no more snow days - think spring!
