Early Action Acceptance

No, midterm grades for most schools won’t be available until early January, those that take midterms before winter break. Some schools don’t take midterms until later in January, the midterm report available in early February. Your GC should know that all schools, not just EA, need midterm transcripts as soon as possible.

Many schools make EA/ED offers before seeing midterm transcripts. Students are still required to submit them, and they are expected to be inline with the students academic profile they were admitted with. Your Sr year grads matter.

If you’re asking do they need your first quarter grades, no that’s not required. If they are higher then what you have been achieving on average in the past (ie straight As with a rigorous load, whereas previously you had a couple of B/B+s mixed in) I would most certainly send the updated grades. If you’ve always had outstanding grades and the first quarter shows more of the same I wouldn’t feel you need to send them. Certainly consult with your GC. Sending is the exception not the rule.
