Early Action at one school hurt chances at another?

Hi,

WPI and RIT are my son’s top two choices–neither is a clear favorite. He’d like to apply early action at WPI because he’d like to (he hopes) get his acceptance as early as possible, and it’s nonbinding. However, we’re worried that RIT will believe he’s more interested in WPI when they learn that he’s applied early action at WPI (that’s revealed in the common app, right?). Do you think that would be the case, and if so, would it hurt his chances of admission at RIT? Thanks.

They can’t see where else you’ve applied on common app. Regardless, it won’t affect his chances.

Thanks. I know they can’t see where else they applied, but I thought I saw a question about whether you’d applied ED or EA anywhere. Maybe I’m getting paranoid!

I don’t think it will matter. Tone of students apply EA or rolling somewhere with the hope of getting at least one acceptance by December.
