The MyMIT website seems to be experiencing some problems and the site mentioned that the EA deadline will be extended. Can anyone confirm this?

Call MIT at 617-253-4791 if you want to verify their extension statement, but I’d be willing to bet they aren’t lying. :)

Matt McGann verifies the extension in his blog.

Update from MIT: the deadline will be extended for ALL apps, not just online ones. How long the extension will be has not yet been determined … when the site is back up, probably a few days will be allowed.

do you think this will delay decision leets too, or do you figure they’ll go ahead and get started with the completed apps they have?

I was thinking about that, and don’t know. She said that they get the completed apps done first, but whether they will delay everyone’s decisions to be “fair”, I can’t say.

The myMIT site is back up today. I wonder what this means for the deadline extension.

Just a heads up: The postmark deadline for Early Action applications has been extended to November 5.

Thanks for the update - I see that in the myMIT site now once logged in. :)
