Early Action FAFSA Sibling ..too -help

My S is a HS senior and intends to apply early action. I know it is recommended we do the FAFSA with some estimates as we won’t have the actual data until Jan. My question is with his sister also in college should I do HER FAFSA early as well so they can compared … (presumably with two in college your EFC shrinks)… but I don’t know if they will take D’s last FAFSA or search out this years, with the expectation we estimated hers as well.

FAFSA for the 2010/11 year won’t be released until January or so.
The EFC will be divided in two if one new sibling is added.
Just fill out the FAFSA by the priority date.

My understanding was that you could do a FAFSA estimating the numbers for the purpose of early action applicants and then re-do it with the concrete numbers after tax time. I think these EA and ED schools want a FAFSA even for early action candidates so they can figure awards… am I wrong?

Most schools that my sons have applied for or looked at do not require FAFSA to be estimated even with an EA application. They just suggest that FAFSA be filed by the priority application date, which is generally around March 1.

Some schools ask for Profile to be submitted as soon as possible in October with an EA/ED application.

And one school required Profile for EA, but FAFSA only for RD.

That was our experience too - Boston College wants the Profile early (Nov?) for early action applications, but not FAFSA (until Feb 1). Georgetown just wants both forms by Feb 1.

You can’t do a FAFSA early. The 2010-2011 one is not even available until January 1st. Come January 1st you can complete it using estimated figures then update it when the actual tax figures are available.

You can so CSSprofile earlier than Jan 1st. Not FAFSA.
