Early Action Notification

If you heard personally from the president, then you must have some cnxns…

I just called the admissions office for my daughter, who is climbing the walls. We got our mail today (in FL) and no letter. The person who answered the phone at Georgetown said that my daughter could call the office tomorrow at this time if there is still no letter, and they would give the decision to her over the phone. This all makes very little sense to me. Good luck, folks.

Thank you, Mimzy, for that bit of news. Lot’s of anxious waiting all around.

i am about to throw up…i am sorry, that sounds really bad, but i am about to flip a s***.

Well ****, I really thought it was coming today. Nothing in the mail in Maryland.

At this point, this is just plain mean…

crap, it didnt come for you?

im missing the second part of school just to wait for the mail. it should be coming any minute but i guess i wont be hearing anything today? im from jersey.

this is getting out of hand

gahh i can’t take it anymore!
it’s so suspenceful!

Got the letter today. (FYI -We live in Maryland) My D got deferred which was highly expected. Moving on to the next college  Good luck everyone!

No letter in Pennsylvania. Hopefully tomorrow :)

yup nothing on long island today. tomorrow maybe? i think my entire school knows im waiting on this georgetown letter at this point since i pretty much tell everyone i see that i need to get home to check my mail asap

newdawn what were her stats?

…and in what part of Maryland do you live in?

SYNCMASTER - I appreciate your questions but I promised my D that I would not post her stats. She doesn’t believe in this website and rolls her eyes at me when she sees me on it :)

Let’s just say at time of the application she was at the top 15% (specifically 11%) of her class (very competitive school) with all the AP courses provided, has musical and athletic ECs, leadership positions, studied in Europe, moved up in to asst. mgmt position at her job for the past 3 years. What I admire most about her is her strong passion to learn, love for school, strong belief in community service and how she would never turn down a challenge. She has always chosen to do something because she wants to, not because it will look good on her college application. I would say her biggest weakness is test taking which is probably what hurt her chance. We will continue to send additional information/stats to GU. So far, from the first marking period she has brought up her GPA (to the mid 4 point something) and she’s working on starting a new club at her school.

She took the news very well and is already listing down what her next steps need to be. I’m afraid I’m the pathetic one  Good luck to all.

AHHH. I can’t stand this, I’m going crazy! I rushed home and my mail was just junk (I live in Georgia tho, so if VA ppl didn’t get it, its only rational that I didn’t).
Man, this time last year, everyone had letters in hand.
I’m absolutely losing my mind, I’m starting to wonder “Hmm…what if GU didn’t even look over my app? What if they didn’t see that I’m applying EA, and they didn’t consider me early?”
I know it’s all crazy, and prolly not something I need to worry about, but i’m in a state of desperation!

NewDawn, I am sorry your daughter was deferred. :-(. She seems just as quailfied as all the rest of us. (See:post i made, although most here disagree with me)

Ah, this tension is killing me!! Half my grade already heard from early schools, and there are a LOT of people that find out tomorrow…so you can imagine the stress level at school…

I didn’t really expect to get the letter today, but was disappointed anyway…

Ah, newdawn, compared to your daughter I am definitely underqualified :-(

I just hope I can take the news as well as you guys did

I doubt I’m going to take it well. But ignorenece as bliss and as far i know, i have a beautiful letter of accepetence coming my way. if i get accepted, im going to buy my friends an ipod!

haha wow ^^ lucky friends you have!!

newdawn- I’m sorry your daughter got deferred and she truly sounds like she would prove to be a great addition to any school =] good luck with the rest of her schools! Thank you for letting us know you have received the letter already though!

I assume those of us not near D.C. will not get our letters tomorrow. Is anyone sure as to when we can call for decisions? Once again, several answers have been posted. One said we could call tomorrow, the other said the 18th.

THey told me i could call on Tuesday
