YEAH MY BEST FRIEND JUST GOT INTO MIT TOO VOUGEPANADA!!! :-)

:-) i wont get into georgetown. people here would ignore me if they knew my SAT scores. But I believe I’m more then that. So you never knoww

Do we know if they were mailed out yet? I would think they werent, as no one received a decision saturday, and I highly doubt they would have mailed them out on saturday. What do you guys think?

Improvements–i’ll switch scores with you in that case! Man, by the time friday rolls around, I won’t have fingernails left…maybe even fingers =D. My guess is that they don’t work a heck of a lot of weekends, so maybe they’ll be mailed out tomorrow at the earliest.
AHHH, the anticipation is killing me! And on the other hand, I almost never want to know, so as to keep the dream alive!

I know how you feel panda, in somedays I don’t ever want to know, i want to keep the dream alive. I just hope with the surge of the super student, they look at non-tradiational students more instead. lol. switch scores sounds good!!

I live in Massachusetts, so I’ll probably get the LETTER ( wrote scores at first) the same day as you. I almost pumle the mailman everyday!

P.S please feel free add me on AIM, my sn is itsabbyyyyy (5 ys). that goes for anyone, just give me your sn first, since i blocked everyone NOT on my buddy list…

im not getting in. i’m too dumb.

why does everyone have to be so smart

Don’t worry, 436qj! I will only get in, if they ignore my stright Ds sophomore year. and my SAT scores. I have all the extras, but none of the basics.

im only getting in if they dont look to hard at my GPA and school profile sheet to see that i dont even or barely make the top 20% in my class

I don’t even have a class rank. I havn’t even been in a high school in 2 years. :-). and you know never 436qj, i wish you the best though!! My GPA in high school is like a 2.5 or something. college its 3.8 unweighted. so who knows what they do. I hope you get in though, and I wish you the best. You probably have a good shot, espically if you have a hook/

i dunno you can go read my chances thread (the one about the day is coming and i am terrified) but im pretty sure i have no hook to speak of.

I’m Jewish too!!!
and I heard that really helps!

Also, do you live in north jersey, my best friend lives in north jersey, and she is worried about the same percentile problem. maybe you even go to high schoo. who knows.

I think you have great chances, don’t worry I’m nervous too.

Your SAT score are much better then mine, plus you have all these things going for you!

do you think we’ll find out BEFORE friday?

Improvements:
i live in central jersey, but its closer to north i guess. Middlesex County.

does being jewish really help? i thought that too but from last years results and what others say it seems like its hurts. who told you it helps?

Everyone, my guidence consuler, gerogetown alumi. It’s only 8% Jewish.

I was the advisor for jr. usy (idk if you know what that is), I did a hebrew school program from 7am-2pm on sunday and on thursday nights. And I was driven from my high school do to anti-semetism. and they said my whole jewish thing would help me so i think it would help me as well. My family lives in New Brunswick, Kendall Park area I know that is in Middlesex county

Remember, not to trust anything here completely. But I think being Jewish will help alot.

yea i know usy but im reform so not affiliated with it. your family lives in new brunswick? im in highland park (basically across the river so 5 seconds away). i didnt write much about being jewish except putting religious school and education board rep on my app, but i did send a rec from my rabbi that was glowing (said i was a “once in a generation” student). not sure if that was a smart move though because i already sent in two teacher recs and they only ask for 1 total.

Yea, I also am mildly worried about rec overload. For MSB, they want social studies or math, so I sent that obviously. However, I know my english recommendation is truly outstanding so I sent that as well. I also got a rec from a professor I had over the summer at gtown.

sending two high school recs and an outside rec doesn’t seem unreasonable

trust me, improvements, you dont want to switch SAT scores w/ me!
is it bad that i only sent the one recc they asked for as a standard min?
i really hope that’s not a bad thing. of course i have my counselor recc as well, but only one teacher recc.
man, nevermind. i dont even know if i want to know the answer to that question, it has already been decided if i’m in or not, so there is nothing i can do except sit here and count the seconds/minutes/hours/days until i find out for sure whether i’m deferred or not!

voguepanda, I sent in only one teacher rec as well. I don’t think it will hurt you (or should I say that I don’t think that it did hurt you since the decisions have probably been made). After all, they did ask for 1 rec. Why would they penalize you for doing what they asked?

nct3, you are very rational. very. those thoughts wouldn’t have even crossed my mind!
~thanks!
