i want to get in. too bad i wont.

436qJ, I feel exactly the same way…Man, college is turning me into a bitter and negative person, and I haven’t even gotten in yet!

hahaha i have been the same way too. i just want to get in but i feel like it’s impossible. i keep rambling about how angry i am and yet i haven’t been deferred officially yet. oh well, it’s just a matter of days right?

so when do we think we’ll get letters? mon? tue? wed? thur?

My guess is thursday.

i’m going with tuesday-wednesday

let’s see if any NoVa/Maryland applicants get their letters tomorrow

What?! Don’t taunt me with this talk of getting the letters before Friday. It’s bad enough I have no idea when I’ll get my BC letter-- I thought I could count on Gtown to stick to the schedule!

I originally thought we’d get it on Monday but now I’m thinking probably Wednesday or Thursday, though I’m praying we find out tomorrow

do some of you really think being jewish will “help a lot?” I’m Jewish too but I completely 100% disagree that this will matter at all. Not to sound mean or anything but if that’s something you’re counting on to get you in you may want to change your thinking.

i dont think its going to help a lot either, thats why i was questioning if it even helps at all. i mean look at all the jewish people on this board alone. gtown def. doesnt have a shortage of jewish applicants

I don’t think being Jewish will help either but what about minorities? Since Georgetown is a predominantly White school, will being any minority (Chinese, Indian, African American, Hispanic, etc) help?

By the way, you know the results are close when CC decides to start its Georgetown Class of 2011 section. Oh boy.

…I don’t think being Jewish will help at all, if it doesn’t hurt you. I really am uneducated on this subject, but would being a different religion than the school rather hurt versus help your chances, or atleast not help?

oh no, they started class of 2011 section. ACK. That’s going to make getting deferred even more painful!

Religion, I think, shouldn’t help/hurt your chances. Though I’ve heard coming from a Jesuit high school really really helps the chances

Well, for me being Jewish will help. If you google my fullname you will see why. I was the only Jew in my whole high school, and I used to my horrific exsperinces to help others.

For other people perhaps not as much, you are right.

And as for race? You have heard of Afferimative Action havnt you?

Exactly…coming from a Jesuit highschool helps a lot since they usually take like at least 5 students from the ones in my area. The reason i’m worried about my decision is that Georgetown historically has hated my highschool and usually accepts no more than 1 person per year. Luckily no one else from my school applied to Gtown EA  but i’m still worried.

I would think race helps a lot more than religion but no one really knows.

I should do a chances thread… but it really doesnt matter for me. No one would be able to help me, and plus it’s out of my hands. I just gotta be posititive.

The 2011 section is pretty intimidating.

yup its out of everyone’s hands. we should all relax, if we aren’t accepted then it just wasn’t meant to be and we’ll get in somewhere else and have just as good a time.

Yeah, that’s true NYyankees. (im a mets fan by the way), i have a million backup plans. If I don’t get in, now…I’m going to apply as a transfer, since I can do that as well.

Best of luck, though.
