Or get in RD. Don’t give up hope!

I won’t, don’t worry. No one else here should either. Never give up!

It’s likely that only, 1 out of 5 us, will get in. But nonetheless…dont g iveu p!

Nah we’re CC! We get accepted at higher the average rate.

Ah well, once again guys, if it comes tomorrow, I’ll let you know.

Thanks. I think I speak for all when I say I really appreciate it

I have so many back-up plans about transferring in, I applied to George Washington, which had been my 2nd choice, just because I could fairly easily transfer in after a semester or year, and not be totally displaced, but the more i hear about GWU, I don’t want to go there. Now I’m stuck having applied to 7 schools, and I don’t have a second choice–all I want is Georgetown!!
This is bad.

Panda I am also applying to GW as a backup. But DAMMNNNNN is that place expensive. I doubt I could afford nearly 60k a year.

I KNO!! It’s insane, I have a friend that got in Friday ED, but her bro goes there, so she automatically gets 1/2 off, but from what i’ve heard from her and her bro and a friend of mine, i really don’t want to go there. I guess if worst comes to worst American?
eh…I also applied to some other crazy schools I won’t get in to, but i dont even want to go there!
Ahhh, GU, why do you do this to me?

VoguePanda/Bobbin: If you’re interested in SFS at Gtown, why arne’t you considering schools like JHU and Tufts which are academically on the same level as Gtown and also have great IR/poli-sci programs? Better than American and GWU for sure… and that GWU price tag is insane! Btw, I’m a Gtown SFS transfer to Tufts…

I have a problem with Tufts. The problem is that I think it would be my second choice, but I can’t apply there…or atleast I’m going to try, but I’m apprehensive. My school is kinda crazy because the limit us to applying to 5 schools. And I only researched/considered Tufts fairly recently, and I’ve already applied to 6 schools after begging my couselor to allow me one extra. I’m kinda timid about going in to ask to apply to seven also because the deadline for giving them the app has passed even if i hadnt already gone over. i’m kinda timid, so i dont kno what to do…ahhhh. whats ironic is that i regret applying to about…4? of those other schools, but my apps are already finished and sent…WHAT DO I DO???
And GU really is my top choice, so do I wait until i hear from them this week?

Um, if Tufts is your 2nd choice, then not applying is a mistake. You should ask ASAP, even before you hear back from Gtown – because then your GC will see you’re really serious about wanting to do that, and it’s not just a freak-out post-rejection from Gtown (if that happens).

(it will happen, i’m pretty sure)
ahhh, i’m just scared of confronting her, since i already begged to apply to 6, and she was mad then.
why am i so timid???

Honey, the place you go to college can change your life forever – it’s not just four years. It’s what you do during those four years that can define so many important aspects of your future. You go in there, and tell her that you’re sorry it’s so late, but you’ve discovered a school that you would be happy going to, whereas 4 of your other 6 are places you could potentially be less happy at. The end. Have your parents talk to her if necessary. Offer to help her make the photocopies, mailing, etc. if that’s what her peeve is.

Don’t worry I applied to 13.

lolabelle-thanks very much for all the advice
I just really wish there wasn’t that rule that we can’t apply to however many schools we want to.
I’ll talk to her tomorrow morning and hopefully it’ll work out…

Yeah, let me know… Otherwise maybe I can think of some other convincing magic… Good luck!

haha, thanks, i need all the magic i can get!
i guess if worst comes to worst, i’ll get my mom to go in, just because administrators fear parents passionately. i dont want to create a rift w/ my counselor tho, cuz she is my IB counselor on top of college stuff, and she totals up my CAS hours and decided whether i get my IB diploma…

Don’t worry VougePanada, just do it!
ust apply, But i know how you feel, i felt horrible asking my college professors for recommendations, i mean i had to ask for so many. So they all just wrote letters for me, instead of filling out the sheets, (at every school but gtown that is).

I feel like it’s just plain lazy of your guidance office to restrict you to applying to 5 schools.

My school, although nonrestricting, isn’t much better. I “accidentally” saw the information they collected for my applications, and there were tons of discrepancies. Like the fact that my transcript and my counselor rec said that I had two different weighted GPAs/ranks. Or how taking 7 AP classes and all the rest Honors isn’t considered “most demanding.” Or how one of my teachers who wrote a rec said that, in addition to the two classes I did take, I took a class with him that I never did. Et cetera, et cetera…

LOL… domestican. That horrible, I would complain. I never saw anything. But I made sure my college sent out all my transcripts, because their known for not doing it.
