<p>I don’t think anymore could go out because we have to turn in a application by Feb 1st and we find out if we are a finalist by Feb 25th.</p>

<p>Really Sammvp1?? It’s such a generic e-mail, that I can’t believe that not getting it means anything. There is nothing in the e-mail that gives encouragement at all about acceptance status; it’s just exactly what’s on the blog.
I think whatever computer glitches that they are anticipating today are already causing some havoc with the system, so I wouldn’t sweat it. It really is just a silly little e-mail. Best of luck. I’ll be waiting for tomorrow around 4-ish.</p>

<p>I’m pretty sure it’s not today because on the Connectcarolina page it clearly says that results, first off, will not be posted on Thursday and secondly, Connectcarolina is probably not going to work from 5pm - 11pm (EST time) today. There’s a good possibility though that during these 6 hours they are going to be reviewing the decisions once again and posting them online: you never know :)</p>

<p>My guess is that it is tomorrow. It could be they made the blog post and sent the e-mails yesterday, because they mailed the letters yesterday. That way if some of the letters land today and everyone knows they will find out soon the folks that don’t get a letter will not be so stressed.</p>
<p>Our son applied to a total of two schools. He is in-state and competitive to get accepted at UNC, but his stats place him directly in the middle of the application pool, so we are totally paralyzed by the uncertainty of this process.</p>

<p>In the past few years the release has been on a Friday afternoon around 4:30, so Friday is logical. They are trying to recruit the top candidates, so they seem to want the old school letters to arrive in concert with the blog post. Thus, folks could also see a letter in the mail today or tomorrow???</p>
<p>Sammvp1: have you been able to receive UNC emails in the past? Like the one to confirm your application and the recently about “reasons to apply to UNC?” You might want to check your spam setting to make sure that it isn’t being blocked or auto-deleted. </p>
<p>If that is ok – you might want to go ahead and give admissions a call to make sure they have your proper email address in the system. In the mean time, you can go online and look at your Common App for UNC and make sure that you have the email info listed properly there, as well! I know this last email really didn’t have any important info - and you’ll still be able to go online and check your status – but I’m sure you’ll feel better if you can get an answer as to why yesterday’s email hasn’t made it to your inbox yet!! </p>
