Early Action!

What if today is not decision day?

Admissions people have apparently stated that today is the day. If that is true, I doubt they would say that unless it was 100%.

Oh my goodness. Tonight?!?! I’m beyond excited

Where have you seen admissions confirm the date other than January 30?

Call them. =

One of my friends (OOS) got deferred. Her dad used to work at the school and he called. Evidently they’re only taking a total of 750 OOS students this year

Well thank God I’m in state lol

I wish I were in state. Stuff is gonna get crazy for OOS :S

Someone call!

Didn’t two people call already?

you would think they would take the maximum allowable oos, since we pay so much more in tuition

State law.

They are required to take a certain amount of in-state students because UNC is a public institution supported by taxes. Taxes that us in-state families have been paying for a while. I’m sure they would gladly take as many kids as they could but the law prevents many things.

I called. They said the plan was to release this evening.

Wow, I wish New York did that. I don’t know why we take so many more out of state/country students than UNC and deny spots to our own students, not to mention that taxes here on Long Island are ridiculously high as it is.

Does anyone know approximately how many OOS applied?

Last year the oos acceptance rate was around 14%
thats all i know

how many people usually get admitted from early action? I know the total number was around 8k for both admissions… but what about early action itself?

I’m so jealous of people who live in California,Washington,NC, PA, NY, Texas and other states with great colleges it sucks to live in a state where the best college is not very reputable or challenging(everyone with a pulse can get in to it)

I’m extremely excited and anxious
