Early Action!

Lol I live in NY, but I doubt I could get into Columbia, though Cornell could be a slight reach. NY is very competitive, and even at my school, we have tons of kids with 2300+ on their SATs. It makes getting into a good college so much harder as a New Yorker.

I’ve always felt that we North Carolinians are very fortunate to live in a state with such a wide range of quality colleges. I’m also very grateful that our state gives NC residents priority access to the public colleges, to a degree that many other states do not. I wish the very best for each of you! These are very exciting moments in your life, and your enthusiasm about college is really wonderful to witness.

I wonder why scores are so much higher in ny.

LOL I’m out of state with a 1940 SAT. I’m not holding my breath

Gosh. I feel like these are going to be the last three or four hours of my life.

Longest. *

Decisions today?!

@swimmerdue, yeah!

I am so impatient.

@DreamsAreReal Thank you! Best of luck to you and everyone else!

BTW, The OSS cap is not a law; it is a policy of the UNC board of governors. As such, it does not require legislation to be changed and is currently under consideration to be increased. There was an article about it in the Daily Tar Heel. In particular, Int’l students may be a recruitment focus going forward for UNC-CH. Thereby improving int’l diversity, and of course, receiving more tuition money. The good news for North Carolina residents is that the plan is to maintain the current number of ISS acceptances. Rather the incoming class size would increase by increasing OSS slightly. Studies are underway…

@swimmerdude Thanks! Hopefully you’ll get in too  I’m looking forward to it. Also, @NewYawk, that doesn’t take place this year, does it? If so, I’d be so thankful for that change.

@DreamsAreReal Should I be discouraged if I didn’t get a scholarship day email? I’m OOS with pretty good credentials…

@swimmerdude Nah, don’t be discouraged. There should be plenty of OOS students who get in without a scholarship :] Chapel Hill doesn’t give that many scholarships to begin with, and most of them go to ISS

@DreamsAreReal Thank god haha. I’m looking for an ROTC scholarship anyways… which I hopefully will get!! What are your plans for a major?

This is driving me completely crazy! I’ve been sitting in my room like a madman for a few hours now… it did not help that school ended early. Good luck to everyone! I believe we all end up where we were meant to be :)

Do you guys know how many Pogue Scholarship nominations go out? I got nominated. Do you think that means I’m accepted?

@swimmerdude I’m going in as applied science  I’m not exactly aiming for a scholarship; I just want to get in! Lol. My stats are about average though. 2180 SAT and 750 on both Chem & US History SAT IIs, which is why I don’t think I’d get any scholarship. Hopefully you get yours!

@DreamsAreReal Your SAT was higher than mine… haha but my ACT is a 32  I’m going in wanting to major in Biomathematics !!

What time do you guys think they will come out
