I don’t know but I hope it’s soon!

On a completely different topic … how great was it watching the d00kies get destroyed by Miami the other night???

I would really start checking hard at around 4.3 to 5ish

@NewYawk I was thoroughly enjoying it…

UNC Offices are still open. It is raining, and classes are canceled, but the bulk of the University is open.

Did you catch the whole Miami team doing the floor slap when they were on D towards the end of the game … I was dying … a total “dis” on a fine d00kie tradition!

Now we just need a good showing against the wolfpack in Raleigh tomorrow!

@thinkpink787
What?! By my calculations they should accept 3300 OOS Students, not 750!

@katrin they usually admit 8000 total and only 15% are OOS usually… There’s no way they’d admit 3300

Yeah, 750 is very hard to believe. If thats true I might as well throw in the towel now lol. That’s a crazy, crazy number…

Anyway, I’m leaving the house now for volunteer work. Its hard to believe that when I come back I’ll finally know…
Stay sane everyone!!! I’m sure I’ll have a lot of posts to read from you guys once I get back lmao. Crossing my fingers for us all

That d00k game was very satisfying to say the least LOL. Great game!!!

Well last year they had 13000 total EA applicants (or something like that) and if they admitted 15% of that, it’d be 1950 OOS students. Idk if it was 15% admittance total or for early action, so my guess would be they probably admitted a little over a thousand.

We got dismissed 15 minutes early up here in Pittsburgh to drive home in the snow. Crazy stuff. Hopefully we’ll all be hearing some good news today!

Yeah that number hopefully isn’t correct that’s just what I was told!

I’m wondering what my reaction would be if I don’t get in.

Need to check your math collegegurl.

13000 applied, but not all were OOS. say 60% were out of state, that would be

13,0000 X 0.6 X 0.15 = 1,170

back to algrebra class for you!!!

The UNC-CH class of 2016: Applicants 29,507, Admitted 7,855, Enrolled 3,928, In-State Admission Rate 49.8%, OOS Admission Rate 14.8%

[First-Year Full-Time Undergraduate Student Profile, Fall 2012 - Office of Institutional Research and Assessment](http://oira.unc.edu/first-time-freshman-class-profile-fall.html)

according to this little thingy, 649 non-residents (OOS students) are attending UNC (For the class of 2016) which is 16.6% of the class. Now, it’s important to note that more OOS students may have been accepted and just chose to not attend UNC. However, based on these statistics the number 750 sounds relatively reasonable.

but correct me if I’m wrong :P.

If you read the rest of my post you will see that I said “probably a little over a thousand.” I sincerely apologize for not showing all of my work jojosophie
And no, not back to Algebra for me, already taken calculus, but thanks for being rude. I sincerely wish you good luck.

now, for the whole class early action plus regular decision,

30,000 applicants, 66% are out of state and 15% accepted,

that would be about 3,000 out-of-state acceptances. Of that amount, if only 750 attend, that would be a yield of
25%.

Remember that the OOS are not only domestic but include a rapidly escalanting international mix.

Class of 2016:
29,507 Total applications
19,532 Non-Resident applications
2,889 Admitted Non-Resident (14.8%)
714 Enrolled
649 Actually Attending
3,914 Actual incoming class size with 16.6% being Non-Resident
