Early Admission

Does Chicago offer early admission (waive senior year to go to college early)?

In rare circumstances for highly qualified applications, I think they do, but I am not sure.

I think this is most likely very rare, but I know for certain that they have done so at least twice in the last 4 years… possibly much more, but I have interacted only with these two individuals.

I also know two people who did that.

There is no explicit requirement that an individual have a high school diploma to attend the University.

Chicago used to be known for doing this quite aggressively, almost like Simon’s Rock now. There were lots of students graduating at 19. I think the official view of this generation of university leaders is that that was a horrible mistake which contributed to the near death of the College in the middle of the last century. On the other hand, it would still be completely out of character for Chicago to turn a desirable student away because of age or not having fulfilled bureaucratic high school graduation requirements.

I think in today’s society, colleges don’t accept much students that want to start early because of the issue with maturity.
