What are the major universities that have early admission, and, of these, which are early action/early decision? I’m kind of at a loss for what universities I should apply to early and what I should hold off until later. If I apply to a big school early action (the non-binding one, right?) and then I apply regular admission to another, would that regular admission look down up the early admission?

If you’d like to know more about me, I don’t know if it’s necessary, but:

Most major universities other than Princeton and Harvard have an early program. Yale and Stanford have single choice early action, whereas MIT, Caltech and others have early action. Most of the other top schools like Duke, Brown, and UPenn have early decision.

early action is non binding, and your regular decision schools have no way of knowing you applied early anywhere, so don’t worry about that.

Sorry to be such a newbie… lol Thanks!

Note that “early admission” often means being admitted to college at the end of the junior year of high school. “Early action” and “early decision” usually refer to getting an admission decision before the “regular decision” time.
