I’m an upcoming HS senior in Indiana and I have the opportunity to either attend an Early College program and earn 18 dual credits or take 2 AP courses and earn 6 credits. I plan on applying to Purdue University. I’m afraid that Purdue won’t like seeing me skip out on AP courses, yet I don’t want to miss out on earning 18 college credits. Which course of action do you think would be more impressive to Purdue? Also, has anyone attended a program that’s a part of the Early College Initiative and how legitimate is it?
What is Purdue’s (and other universities your interested in) policy on dual enrollment credits vs. AP credits? If they don’t take dual enrollment, then taking the APs are better. If they take both, I imagine 18>6, but you’ll have to find that out yourself.
