I applied to a school ED where I was pressured by my counselor to apply to. After being accepted, I withdrew my applications from other colleges but kept my application for my dream school. I got accepted there too. What should I do?
A) there are no dream schools. All schools have issues- - bad profs, roomies, dorms, what have you
B) Assuming your ED school is affordable and at the price you knew up front, you know what the right thing is to do - attend.
C) unless the “dream” school decision came first, you never should have gotten the decision - you are bound and should have withdrawn all apps - and if the ED school finds out you didn’t, you could be banned from both (no, this won’t happen…but could).
So you should be going to the ED school.
That said, if you don’t attend and I assume you’ve already paid a deposit and committed - but if you don’t attend, you’ll likely not go to jail and won’t have a criminal record But you will have been wrong - and potentially will cause an issue for future students at your HS.
In the end, pressure or not, you applied ED, signed (as your parents did) the ED form, so you can’t behind - I was pressured.
Sorry - and good luck.
If you were accepted to your ED school….you are supposed to attend your ED school…and withdraw ALL other applications. You decided to not withdraw one? Why? That totally is in violation of your ED agreement you and your parents, and school counselor signed.
Did you accept the ED offer of acceptance? If so, I think your choice has been made.
The right thing to do is decline the acceptance to this supposed dream school, and attend the ED school to which you were accepted.
April fools?
