<p>(1) If your son is truly very interested in NYU, apply ED. If your son gets accepted, you will receive a financial aid package, containing the FA that NYU is providing to you, as well as loans available to cover the remaining cost.</p>
<p>(2) Contrary to the above, " I have heard that ED applicants who have gotten accepted to NYU tend to get lower financial aid because they essentially have to attend NYU. " this is not true, for two reasons. Financial aid, if submitted by the deadline, is considered equally for ALL students. <p>Now, if your son were to be accepted ED and you do not believe that it is affordable, you’re allowed to back out. In cases where finances are the issue, NYU ALLOWS you to back of your ED agreement; no hassles or problems. NYU understands that it is very costly to attend and therefore allows leeway in its’ ED agreement.</p>
