Hi! I am contemplating applying ed2 to NYU Tisch acting program or not. I heard that there is a higher chance of getting accepted if you apply early, but at the same time the studio placement kind of worries me, what if I get a placement I’m not happy with would I be able to end up rejecting or is the early decision binding before you even get a studio placement? Has anyone been admitted there through early decision and can explain how it works? Thanks!!
If you have any doubts, don’t ED. PERIOD, end of story.
But call the department to find out possibilities of placement.

I would contact the school directly to answer this question.
If you are not 100% certain of both the college’s program and affordability, I would not ED.

Acceptance first, placement second.
Assessment by instructors & consideration of your preference(s). Can change if unhappy, but not sure if guaranteed to get you into the studio that you prefer.

I believe that all placements, except for the MT, are after acceptance, even for RD.

Do they tell you in advance if you’re admitted to the MT track? I know they have an option to audition both to MT but also the others if you aren’t accepted to MT. I wonder if choosing that option reduces your chances of being admitted to MT 
I think so? I think at audition you can say only The MT studio
