Early Decision Chances

Hi! So I'm new here but I decided to give this a try and ask you about my eligibility to get into Rice. I'm applying early decision and have already turned my application in so I can get an Off-Campus interview. I'm a Caucasian from Iowa as well as a First Generation college student. My family earns about $80,000-90,000 a year.

I've taken one AP class (AP Comp.) but couldn't afford the exam. My school only offers about five AP classes and I'll be taking two more this year. AP Lit and AP Psych.
I'm also taking a couple college courses from the community college in my town. American Government and Statistics. I may also be taking Cultural Anthropology, but there's no guarantee.

My ACT score is 29. And I have a GPA of 3.5. That's because my school doesn't weigh grades so all the Bs I got in AP and Honor classes stayed that way. I'm also top 20% in my school.

I'm wanting to major in Anthropology or Psychology

-I'm Section Leader and First Chair Violist
-I'm a Section Leader in Band for Percussion
-I'm Band Council Secretary
-I'm the Librarian for both Choir and Band\
-Received Division 1s all four years at Solo and Ensemble
-I'm Vice President of Junior Civitan which is a community service group that helps out all over the state and community.
-I've been a member of tennis for all four years of high school
-I'm also apart of the bowling team
-I offer lessons in Viola, Piano, Flute, and Percussion to elementary students. Unpaid
-I help out in organizing music for local music teachers. Unpaid
-I look after my younger family members about 5 days a week while their parents are at work. Unpaid
-I'm also a member of Link Crew which is a group of Seniors and Juniors who help Freshman adjust to High School life as well as guide them in scheduling and their school life.
-I also tutor some friends in English and Psych

My teacher recommendations are good as well as my personal essay/supplement

I know that this is a stretch, but I've been looking at Rice since freshman year. I really like this school and hope to get in, but I understand why I might not be accepted. Thank you so much for your replies. Good Luck.

A stretch is probably a good way to put it. Try to demonstrate interest through your interview.

Good luck.
