early decision disadvantage???????????????

Can applying early decision be a disadvantage when it comes to scholarships? Seeing as you are binded in going to that school if you are accepted it seems like they would offer the majority of their scholarships to those who are regular decision with excelent stats since those are the ones contemplating…

You shouldn’t be applying early decision to any med school unless you know for sure you’ll be going to that med school. Scholarships are less of a big deal because most med students don’t get scholarships anyway. The bigger issue with applying ED is that, if you don’t get into your ED school, your apps will be late to the other schools.

Yes, unless you have a significant overriding issue that makes one particular school your absolutely #1 school (ie, you have a parent on faculty, your spouse is currently attending school there as well), then applying ED is an inappropriate choice.
