Early Decision/SAT dilemma - help please?

Okay, so I’ve recently decided that I will probably apply to Carleton early decision, which puts me in a tricky spot as far as standardized tests go.

I took the SAT for the first time in June, and I keep going back and forth on whether or not it would be worth it to take it again. I don’t really know how I feel about my scores: 760 CR, 660 M, 720 W, 8 essay (1420/2140).

I’m also taking 3 subject tests, which gives me only two test dates to work with. So, a couple of questions:

Do people generally take subject tests only once?

Should I even bother retaking the SAT?

No, IIRC, you’re well into the Carleton mid-50% of SATs, and once you’re there, it’s not really worth it. Study for the SAT IIs, and, yes, it seems that most people take any given subject test only once. However, if you do poorly, take it again, by all means.

Yeah, I think I’m going to just focus on the subject tests… I mean, even if my score were to go up, is it really worth $45?

Thanks for the advice!
