Early Decision - SAT Subject tests

When should one take the SAT subject tests if they are planning on applying Early Decision?

Junior year or I think the first test date in senior year. If you wait too long, you run the risk of hte scores not getting into your file.

Even if not applying ED, it is often wise to take SAT IIs at the end of junior year if you are taking the corresponding AP test that year, so the info is fresh in your mind. AP US History, for example, is generally taken junior year, and thus taking SAT II US History in May or June of that year is a good idea.

For courses such as foreign languages that continue to build, if you want to wait longer to take them, you can probably find the last acceptable date on the college's website. I would imagine that at least the October test would be ok for many ED deadlines.
