I want to apply for Early Decision at Boston University but I am waiting for a scholarship result in Japan. It probably comes out around January which is later that both ED and regular admission. I just want to know will I need to go to BU if I’m accepted and receive the financial aid? Can I decline them if I get the Japan scholarship in January?
Thanks

ED Agreement is binding, and it means that if you get accepted you HAVE TO GO, but if you don’t receive enough financial aid from Boston University then the agreement can become invalid. Plus, if you received enough financial aid, then you have to withdraw your applications from other universities(inclusing the one in Japan) In that case, I would suggest you go with regular decision (or check out the early action schools!)

Ask admissions@bu.edu about any special international ED rules.

Ok cool! I applied EA to some other universities. Thank you guys for clarifying that.
