I’m debating on where to apply Early Decision: Johns Hopkins or Rice
I know that both are extremely competitive and consider them both high Reach schools for me. The fact that I am ethnically Asian and that my SAT scores are not that high make me even less of a positive candidate for both schools. As of now, I have decided JHU as my ED choice solely based on the fact that it has a slightly higher admission rate and their SAT scores for their recently admitted students are slightly lower than RICE, and also because I liked the baltimore area better. I have attended the Info Session and Campus Tour for both schools this past March and plan on attending the senior overnight stay if it will help me get accepted to either schools. However, I am contemplating on re-choosing my ED choice as I have heard that because I go to school in Georgia, I will be a better fit for Rice since we are both in the Southern region and other factors too such as that JHU considers financial need in the admission process while Rice does not. Bottom line: what are my choices at either schools for both ED and Regular and which school is a better choice for ED in terms of acceptance. Please be honest and as accurate as possible. Thank You!
