Early Decision?

So, I’m currently a Cornell junior and I’ve just started researching law schools. From this message board, I found out that some law schools have an early decision admission option. I didn’t realize before that that was a choice. Does anyone know if it helps with admission at all? Is it worth doing?

Well, I don’t know how much it helps with admissions, but I believe your financial aid options are compromised as a result of doing ED/EA.

Yeah, I figured it wouldn’t be so great for financial aid, but I was under the impression that top schools don’t really give much aid in any case. Is that true? I would also only apply early decision to a school with guaranteed loan forgiveness in any case, since I’m mainly interested in public interest law.

I’m not sure what guidance I can provide, since all the schools I know of with loan forgiveness are Harvard, Yale, and Stanford, none of which have early decision.

what are the schools that do ED?

Well, I saw that Penn and NYU both have early decision (and loan forgiveness).

when I apply to law schools four years from now i’m doing early decision NYU… i’m gonna go work on my application essays right now.
